- About TRM - TWIN RING MOTEGI
TRM is the first oval motor sports circuit in Japan. It is funded of Honda.
There held American style motor sports like NASCAR or CART(Indy car).
European style circuits were poplar in Japanese auto sports so far as Formula 1 is so
poplar.
The unique aspect of this show is to use a motor sports circuit instead
of using local airport. This previous show was held at Tajima municipal airport.
At first, I was amazed by the idea. Is is possible to takeoff and
landing on the motor sports circuit? or Is this a kind of April fool joke?
However, the result was very successful.
First, grandstand seat position gives us a good view of the show. They
sometime flew below us!
second, the big screen (for motor race) can be used to show pilots
real-time expression.
third, airspace over the private area gives much freedom to fly over.
It will not interface for other general aviation planes.
This makes pilots happy too. They can hear audience cheer voice closely
than airports.
When I have stayed in United States, I had enjoyed US airshow very
much. The dynamic performances are far beyond Japanese ordinal airshow as you've seen in
another my web pages.
After I came back to Japan, I was sorry for I can not enjoy such a
great show anymore..BUT this TRM FWGPA show saved me:)
This was truly a great airshow.

There is a famous traditional pottery center Mashiko near Motegi. You
can enjoy both tradition and show at Motegi, Tochigi prefecture.
